Buyers Beware
tried to purchase from [admin removed - no name & shame - two sides to every story]
purchased board and arranged to pickup.
Arrived at address ..........no board!!!!!!!
All types of excuses and promises.
Had to cancel visa as seller had details.
Good lesson learnt..........use Paypal or cash inhand.
Board was "Best Admiral "which is still on site for sale

So he sold the board before you got there?

Not sure if he even had a board to sell.
All i know is he had the money and there was no board.

Private seller? If so I'd never give my CC details...

Seems strange he provided an address he was actually at. Most scammers are smart enough to not hand over their legit address.

If he has CC facility, wouldn't he be doing that through a business ? (hint hint: falls under consumer protection law). Private sellers are normally cash or direct deposit.

kazzza: I don't think this guy sells windsurfing products, and doesn't effect us, but thanks for the heads up anyway.

Tricky situation. While Seabreeze doesn't offer a rating or review option like for example PayPal does you do have the option of looking at the number of forum posts. I would suggest if a user has only recently joined and/ or has almost no posts (ie isn't active in the forums) I'd be hesitant to send any money.

As for sending credit card details to a private seller. I would only make payment via credit card with a private seller if their either send me a PayPal, Stripe or similar payment request. Under no circumstances would I send them the credit card details directly.

That said, if you made payment via credit card you can ask your credit card company to dispute the charge. If you did send a private seller your credit card details though I doubt the credit card company would refund.

BTW, are you posting under a bogus profile? You only joined in September and only have 7 posts mainly relating to this "fraud"?

Best to contact us (Seabreeze) before naming & shaming .. I've fired off an email to seller to sort this out. They are reputable, and have been members for 3 years...

We all get upset when we finally make a decision on a new bit of gear, go to get it, and it's not there!!

Hopefully just a heat of the moment post, and all will end well.

Well certainly doesnt look like your interested in both sides of the story Laurie
You seem quite diminishing of Kazzza
She has informed me she still hasnt got her money back and is still helping police with their inquiry
And your helping the guy that took money for a board and refuses to hand it over or has lend it someone and cant get it back.......yep all sounds super dodgy
Good luck Kazzza with getting your money back and police inquiry
I think people should be informed of the seller and their details as this is a very clear breach of the law to take money for goods you dont have

So where is this Kazzza member from? Are they trying to impersonate Kazza from Tamania?

Yes I had to read it twice to realise it wasn't Kazza from Tassie.
