I am looking for a Tabou 3S LTD and the 2014 models look awesome.
Only they are way too pricey for my budget right now @ 1.899 EUR.

Now I have found something very interesting online in a French surfshop about 5 hours driving from home.

The description says this:
TABOU 3S Ltd 106 Proto @ 900 EUR.
Very good condition, test board.
106L Development board, badged 96L.
Long: 236cm? x Wide: 64,5cm?
I looked up the specs from the production boards.
96L = Long: 239cm x Wide: 61cm.
106L = Long: 240cm x Wide: 64.5cm

So this means this board is 3cm shorter than a 96L with the same width than a 106L

So what can I expect from this? Should I stay clear of development / proto boards?
I basically want to evaluate if it is worth driving up to France and checking out the board..

Just got a reply from the surfshop. They say it's a 2015 prototype used for testing. It's a 106L with a 96L paintjob. Sounds interesting but what if it is a pre 2014 proto with wrong characteristics? Another option is a 2013 model but a CED version, not the carbon kevlar LTD. Price 998 EUR.

Not all protos are good protos.
Its normally about 1 in 6 is a winner.

Just got to hope that the 1 their selling is the shape they have chosen to be the production.

Also, be sure the construction is production quality.

It could be the best $$$ ever spent or the biggest waste.

You'd be safer buying a 2nd hand production level board, in good condition

Like I said in your last thread the 3S is so similar from 2012 -14 that you may as well buy a good secondhand 2012 or 13.
