anyone ever notice that it is always windy on stargate atlantis?
surely the accients like to windsurf. whenever i see a shot of the ocean there is whitecaps.
I think that its easier to make the water look realistic with the white caps - Not 100% sure -
Ask "shear-tip" he's a computor graphics animator.
But if I ever travel there I'll be sure to take my gear![]()
Hehe... Stargate Atlantis is a sci-fi series which has a lot of computer graphics thrown in for good measure. The ocean around Atlantis most likely being one of those CG effects.
I'm also a CG artist/animator, although my job isn't quite as interesting as it possibly would be working on Stargate Atlantis......... but I know water/liquid effects are one of the hardest things in CG to get looking realistic.
Chances are pretty good that stargate travel would completely stuff monofilm though. You'd definitely want your vent screw undone - who knows what the pressure difference between worlds would be!
gotta love the gate! ![]()
i reckon an atlantis graph is a top idea.... bit of light relief when the doldrums set in.
maybe it can be a traffic meter. so when things are quiet it's red and busy is green.
that way the more we post the better the wind in atlantis.![]()
one thing is for sure the ocean is a big puddle for jumpers.![]()
have to admit, the vampire alien idea is a winner.
