Twice in two outings, with your trailer open rigging up, you're asked by passers-by whether you give lessons and whether you're single

when you rig up your 5.6m sail only to discover its your spare 5.6m which isn't as good as your newer one, but better than the third spare sail.

I've been asked 'Is this your business"?

People ask how many boards I have and I really have no idea.....
(Of course they're always coming and going and some are loaners etc etc. All the excuses - and that reinforces that there is too much )

You count 17 boards, 3 racing dinghies, 1 racing cat, 36 and 28 ft yachts, a dinghy, two outboards, and then start counting sails.......

My wife and I have now rationalised down to a mere 12 boards, 5 racing dinghies, 1 racing cat, and the two yachts, but we've also picked up another yacht dinghy, a RIB for the yacht, a canoe and a kayak and three more outboards. Last time I counted sails I gave up at about 56.

You can never have too much, just not enough space to store it.

Yep, too much is N+1 as they say. Or should that be enough is N+1? Or is too much never enough? Maybe enough is enough.
But do I need some skis?

We've started to rent houses with garages when traveling so that we have space to store the extra boards. Can get 11-13 boards in and on the high roof Nissan for traveling, but usually only have 5 or 6 in van when windsurfing for easy access. The garage at home is also filled up with boards, so the old D2 is stashed outside. Maybe it's time to convert a guest room into a board storage room .

When the local government tries to tax your vehicle or trailer as a commercial operation. This really happened to a friend of mine in Virginia.

When your spouse decides to audit your gear collection. And uses "wind" as a term in a search of the bank accounts.
