I have a Neil Pryde X9 and the teeth / cleat that locks onto the rope is vertically non-existent. Does anyone know where I can buy either the cleat or the whole arm from?

Thanks in advance.

I just broke my X6. Don't know if any of the parts are the same or not but you can have them.

Windsurf and Snow in Collaroy usually stock these parts. They may be happy to post to you. I have bought many a boom clamp from them myself and from memory, they were reasonably priced parts.

Doesn't the X9 have a 10 year warranty?

Why the redthumbs it si a good suggestions for a temp fix.

Looks like NP employ the same metallurgist to design their cleats as their stainless bits that rust really fast............

That cleat wears out quickly if you let sand stick to the rope. From the picture it looks like there is oxydization, probably it is made of some sort of aluminium alloy and has a SS screw to attach it. Best to rinse in fresh water after use and let it dry to avoid corrosion. You could also remove it, clean it and try to re-sharpen the edges, but that would be extreme.

Most NP suppliers in Oz should carry new X9 Boom clamps, the new ones have a plastic cleat, don't bother trying to fix the old one.

I agree why would someone red thumb a good temporary fix that in reality would last as long as the rope would if you are using the same diameter mast all the time. Muppets
