After hearing of an incident involving a mast, a mast extension and a very sensitive piece of the male anatomy
.
I wondered just how bad can you hurt yourself, before you even get on the water.
I sliced a fin through my shin to the bone !!
Downhaul rope slipping on the winch resulting in a deep cut on the skin between thumb and index finger.
Not as bad as the other downhaul accident mentioned?? Ouch..
Dislocated a shoulder hoiking a handful of sails over my head when walking down the side of the house to load them into the car. Put a prompt end to that session before it began.
Popped my big toe nail off on a rock in ankle deep water seconds before lauching at Dutchies... It was honking that day too... 30 knotter![]()
DOH!
Jumped over the sail when rigging and caught my pinky toe on the foot of the sail, dislocting it
Didn't realise it was so bad 'till I got in the water and it felt all floppy ![]()
When my mate broke his ankle gybing in shallow water I had retrieve his board and rig about a 1km round trip, I got a bit puffed,
He still hasn't sailed since,(still mending)
stood on a cobbler going out, four hours in a bucket of boiling water when I came back. Pain 11 on the 1 to 10 scale !
Left my board on its side in the garage with the fin still attached after a good session and ready for the next day - The "Misses" walked into it, resulted in a trip to hospital and many stitches.
That really hurt with all the consequences!!!! I still get it replayed regularly.....
Worse injury is definitely being slapped around by the wife and told that you can't go windsurfing...the latter being the most painful. ![]()
i dont know what to do Laugh or cry ............you are a freak windwarning.
But life is full of them................![]()
