Hi my name is Christo.
I am coming to Sydney on a business trip for a week in September and was wondering if there's a place I can go to and rent some windsurfing gear for some flat water blasting or free wave for bump and jump, depending on conditions or spot. Could be foiling if it's not windy /wing or windsurf foil.
Any recommendations or insights are highly appreciated.
I have never been to Australia or Sydney and have no idea what to expect and where to start.
P.S. I live in L.A.

The short answer is no. I don't think there has been rental gear in Sydney this century.

You could give WSS Boards a call (02 9971 0999 Sydney). Located on Sydneys northern beaches and the only windsurf, foil, sup, wing shop in Sydney. As Mr Milk said, rentals arent a big thing here but the boys, Sam, Chris and Will, might be able to help you out.
You're coming at a good time as its start of our spring.

I wouldn't bother. It's not easy to get gear and unlikely to be windy at times that work for you.

You maybe better off just going for a surf, Sydney has some good waves.

If you want to come a few hours up the coast to Jimmy's Beach Hawks Nest i've got gear you could use.
You break - you buy. For sure you will hit a turtle, my new gear selling strategy

Really though, send me a message if you want to try it up here. It's a nice flat water spot.

Reach out when your here and if the weather and the timing is good you can connect with locals and see if you can beg/borrow or generally bludge gear for a session, Beer is good currency

Pity you're going to Sydney. WA is were it's at. Sydney's okay, but better in summer. It's just an East Coast thing. I'm in Queensland on the East Coast and it's like Sydney, occasionally good when you're at work, and minimal on your days off. WA is like Hawaii, consistently dependable on wind.

I've ben on the receiving end of that. A German guy showed up at the beach couple of years ago, just to check it out, thinking there must be a rental shop or something- I let him ride my STB 95 and 5.3 for an hour. Made his day.

Beautiful city Sidney. I went for a surf session this morning in Marubra at sunrise. Friendly locals, nice water really great experience. Also went to Manly with the ferry and saw some windsur foilers in the afternoon, all on IQ gear- Severn sails. I might do another early morning session in the next few days. Staying at the Fullerton hotel. I am really enjoying the city.
