Winner 2007 Vando!
Winner 2008 ?
With a forecast of 12-15kts and many sailing at similar speeds....should be some great racing as gybing won't be as critical.
sponsered by who? Ray? see ya there
this is a good vibe event, everybody is welcome , and you dont have to be a super sailor to compete. Even if you dont want to race it's worth coming down to check out the gear, watch the sailing , have a bit of a chat, and soak up the atmosphere.![]()

Looking good for tomorrow's Waterloo Cup. There is a 15-20 knot South Easter predicted so it should be a real blast. The one lap and long leg should be fun, the less jibing the better in my book.
Good to see the results up for the states. Congratulations to the winners, Julian Savina in the Slalom class and Kim Lawrence in the freeride, well done in challenging conditions.
The Waterloo Cup is a very social day so please bring your friends and family down for the event. As usual there will be a sausage sizzle and drinks provided and the king tide will make sailing a lot of fun in the bay.
See you there.
Well it sure is looking good. We have 15-20kt SE at 7.30 this morning.
Should be a good day - for the burn and turn.
Vando - remember to bring the trophy back![]()
Might have to bring the small board along today. It is showing 25-30 at Double Island Point already and the graph for the airport is rising sharply.
Looking forward to some high wind blasting and a chat and sausage on a bun afterwards.
Thank you to the committee of WQ and all the supporters.
A steady 15knts saw 34 starters compete today in 4 slalom races.
The Open winner of the Waterloo Bay Cup for 2008 is the ever popular, always in the top 5, very nice guy,-------------- sorry dinners ready, back soon.
My first crack at slalom racing was certainly made easier by the organisation of this event.
Well done to all that made today a good one.
Thanks Ray and family for another cracking Waterloo Cup. Good to see you are still in with the big fella to be able to get that high tide to coincide with some nice breeze.
Also thanks to the ever professional start crew and Brian Malony in the very nicely decorated support boat.
Lastly thanks to all the competitors and supporters that turned up today. There is nothing more satisfying for the organisers to see such an awesome fleet out there giving it their best.
Just put a couple of pics in the photo section, i'd be here all night if i uploaded the 300+ of them. Hope you like ![]()

Everyone who took part in this event was a winner.
