Get ready for a huge event coming up on March the 12th.
Expanding on the Neil Pryde "Learn to sail" program whereby a trailer loaded with Neil Pryde gear travels the states allowing people to trial the gear, Luke and Gail from Goodtime have combined forces with the Royal Queensland Yacht Club to put on an event which is touted to emulate the legendary Ledge to Lancelin race held annually in WA.
The format is a long distance marathon type race from the point in front of the yacht club to Green Island (weather dependant) and back. Goodtime is going to throw in some awesome prizes for the winners and the Yacht Club is going to provide a number of safety boats to make sure no one gets into trouble on the course.
The finer details regarding prizes, costs and times will be announced shortly but the intention is to have a massive turnout and really showcase the sport.
So be sure to keep the calendar clear and spread the word. The event is open to all sailors from all locations, National or Queensland based.
The notice of race and registration details can be found on the following link:- www.rqys.com.au/marine-sports/GREEN-ISLAND-MARATHON/11-GREENISLAND-NOR.pdf
