Hiya All!!!
Has anyone used their windsurfer as a SUP?
I'm thinking of buying a paddle to use with my 130L starboard for cruising. Am I mad?
Cheers!

Depends on you weight really.

I am around 100 kegs and can paddle my 190L Starboard Go comfortably.
Not something you would want to travel miles on, but a bit of fun. It doesn't track as well as a dedicated SUP, so you will probably end up changing sides more. Big fin helps a bit.

Give it a go.

I use an old 2001 Mistral vision 150 litres with a 30cm fin. Works fine for me on flat water, have had a lot of comments from others on True SUPs asking what it is when I paddle past. Works ok for me just to get some training in when there is NO wind. Again depends on your weight though and your balance skills. I'm about 64kg so fine for me. I'd say just give it a go and see.

AWESOME!!!! I had forgotten about this board - I inherited it off an NZ traveller when I bought an old Kawasaki trail bike off him. Gotta be close to 180L. Centre-board intact so I will hunt down a paddle from the local sport shop here in Bunbury. Thanks for your outstanding advice!!!

(it has been tucked up in the carport roof space, away from my "real" windsurfing gear... ;-) )

Picked up an old 500cs for 50 bucks on eBay , works a treat, I learnt that sup is the reverse of kitesurfing , looks pretty lame but is a really cool thing to do . Also if it gets a bit rough just drop down the centerboard for a bit of extra stability,
