I liked it.
Expires SBS demand in 3 weeks.
Not easy to tell a story well, I think they did so there.
But, that's a lot of outhaul isn't it!?
Did he drop fin screw and make something up?

Hay..no spoilers!
Woops, yeah no spoiler intended.
Nobody drop no spoilers!
It is not a windsurf movie like we are used to.
Summary i found online
"Brief plot descriptions are often deceptive, which is why categorizing "Atlantic." as a windsurfing movie, or even an immigration drama, fails to capture the sensitivity and lyricism that sophomore helmer Jan-Willem van Ewijk and d.p. Jasper Wolf bring to this engaging, generally restrained pic. Beautifully shot on the Moroccan coast, the film tells of a local windsurfer whose frequent association with Euro travelers adds a highly charged pull to the already palpable draw of departure. Atmospheric, at times impressionistic while still firmly tied to a discernible plot, "Atlantic." is sailing smoothly in fest waters, and could see a small Euro release.
If padacah says it's worth renting, then aussies are lucky they can get it on sbs just now.

correction: I was asking if it was worth renting.
btw, I hate sad endings so if things suck at the end, obliquely tell me. I don't want to invest 90 min of my life into the characters and leave feeling depressed. That's what the news are for.

To be honest I would say no, save your money. The cinematography was good but for me the movie just meandered along, nothing special.

sorry i missed the question mark.
Maybe better you just keep getting your drama from news i think ![]()
Oh it meanders along very very slowly. I'm probably a rare one that likes that though i think.
Don't think of it as a movie, just a sloooow nice scenic film.
It was a bit of a chore to get through it, but i'm glad i did.

That's a fair review, slow but light enough.
SPOILER ALERT....
Not really a spoiler but the person I watched it with thought he was trying to sail to Europe to somehow be with his mates girlfriend.
Not the worst movie, he was def out to cut his mates lunch :)
Anyone know how / where one can download/watch the new Dunkerbeck movie?
Thanks to all for the "reviews". I may take it in someday but don't have the mental energy at the moment. Thanks, MobZ, for posting the interview. That's a pretty neat story and that one had a nice ending - windsurfing guy ends up starring in a movie he helped inspire.
Yes Paducah that's the true story, and it's a good one. The dream is still alive.
I can not handle one bit of news these days. I had to completely cut it all from my life as much as possible. I don't trust it either. People can make very convincing video news these days with AI so I don't know what is real and what is not. The wind is real. So I'm sticking to that.
