Hi. I normally sail in closed lakes on the central coast nsw, with no sharks in sight. Anybody have any suggestions of the best place for me to go windsurfig, bump/jump speed sailing in safe spots in Australia if i was to go for a holiday september 2024?
Kanaha is really good for the whole family, but not Australia ![]()
True, I missed that bit of the OP.
Try Jervis Bay , good NE seabreeze in spring. Good holiday accommodation available.

You'd be lucky to get a NE'er in early spring. Gusty westerlies are what we have more commonly
Just got back from another trip to SWR area and was thinking of starting a similar thread of bucket list places to visit.
Top of my list would be
Golden Beach Caloundra QLD.
Trial Bay South West Rocks NSW.
Coronation Beach in WA. (Not been yet)

Caloundra has the advantage of warmer water (and no crocodiles)
Interesting.
wind pumps from mid sep to dec along nsw mid north and north coast.
Usually 3-4 days of gradually strengthening northerlies followed by 2-3 days southerlies with a few windless days mixed in.
Not Australia, but cheaper and quicker to get to than WA (from NSW).. New Zealand! Plenty of places on the top half of the North Island that time of year. Auckland has a lot of different spots, or if you like it more remote and more in nature, try the Karikari Peninsula in Northland. Happy to help with more details if you are interested. Spring is the windy season! You wouldn't need to bring gear but could just rent from us waternomads.co.nz
Temperature? Yes, you'll need a wetsuit, a 4/3 will be perfect.

Haha there are currently at least 5 of us who live in the 'SWR area' and are in WA chasing wind for a reason. Highly recommend moving Coro further up your list and SWR way down ![]()

WA is definitely on the list. Twice now I've tried to get there and twice it's fallen through. ![]()
Don't disagree with your point but also dont wanna under sell the east coast in September because it's typically pretty windy.
where would you suggest for sep 2024?

Bummer about your previous trips. Hope you can make it one day soon ![]()
As you are from the Central Coast there is a great spot just up the road. No, not Lake Macquarie as that's a bit close for a holiday. Try Myall Lakes. There is an excellent NRMA Myall Shores resort there (discount for members), for camping, glamping, caravaning. I imagine it would be packed this time of the year and other school holidays. There's a reason for it being a favoured spot for GPS and slalom events each year.
