Any news yet about tomorrow? Also where is Pelican Park? I don't know Redcliffe that well, know who to get to Suttons where is it from there?
cheers notwal for the directions.
unfortunately we will need to postpone the meet for tomorrow. the doldrums are now up to week 3 and the forecast is heading towards 5-10 knots. at this stage I am looking towards sunday next weekend.
more info to follow.
I think we all need some lightwind friendly boards, no YOU all need some lightwind friendly boards, I've already got one!!!! ![]()

Justin - forecast at the bom is for 10-15 nne winds which would be perfect for any beginners that are planning on going. Today the bom said Redcliffe was 15-17knots from 2pm onwards today with NO RAIN. Sounds like it would have been ok and says same for tomorrow. Are you being a little hasty? I don't have any free weekends now until after xmas and I think a lot of others will be busy with xmas parties also this time of year if you are to postpone it.
anyway just my thoughts
PS love the new sails![]()
I agree, KA72, it should be on, conditions should be perfect for the planned "WindWanderers Women in Windsurfing meet", same as today I'd recon. Not only that, I go under the knife for some more skin cancer surgery Wed & may not be able to sail next weekend!!! BUGGER ![]()

this is a difficult position to be in but i think it is best to postpone. the wind today was only 8-12 knots. the guys at manly had around 10-13 knots. other than formula kit that just isn't enough wind to get everyone going so the numbers will be well down.
i understand though that some will have timing issues. i'll do everything i can to resolve that. even if it means postponing the meet further to allow all the girls to get out on the water at the same time. an extended delay will allow at least 3 other girls to join in.
i don't like having to postpone these things as much as everyone else but i can't control the wind and i think we need to keep the club flexible to be able to sail on days when it's windy. we still have low wind meets because of the outcomes when we fix a date for a particular event. like the xmas party and gearswaps for example. so i am confident there will be plenty of light wind learner opportunities coming. that said even on the days where it is forecast to blow, early in the mornings have good conditions for beginners and i can take advantage of that.
i am definately sorry to do it but i think it is the best choice.
