Ok here we go again.................
18 to 23 cross, cross off , Good 3 foot, on the sets waves,
Bit of a Waiting period for the sets .
In fact if you fanged to fast, you would be 5km out to sea before the sets arrived SO why fang flat out all the time.
1 to get out there first and claim a set wave. (may be you carnt plod along AND stall to stay in line )?
or 2 trying to prove you can sail faster stronger and better in and around the break dumping your kite over around and in front of every one.?
GOT NEWS 4 YOU
kITE PERSONNEL think because where windsurfing ,,,,, pintching relaxing and cruising /plodding up wind...... actually because you dont want to plan flat out and your buying time for the sets to arrive.
Your unhappy ,carnt sail and there better,
I COULD GO ON .........AND WOULD LOVE TO SPEAK MY MIND woulnt want upset da happy forum vibe.
But if you kite POSSIE have been out for 2 hours and 10 sailer hit it............... ......use your fkn brains ......FK OFF
Will one of you please
show us your BACK HAND ROUND HOUSE CUTBACK
I think it was about waiting for waves out the back and picking up a swell, each person takes their turn, one wave each. Champagne windsurfing.
and then kiters roll up and start doing their trademark 50m long runs and dropping in............. instead of going out the back, picking up a lonely swell and waiting their f%^ing turn like everyone else does.
Sounds like we should put up signs on the beach, could be justified to the local councils as means to avoid fights ![]()
But kiters are not the only ones. I've had a few windsurfers tack right in front of me on the swell I'd picked up hundreds of meters back. Rules and courtesy can be learned...
i hear you KOP i hear you.
But i have to add that its not just tea baggers that disobey the unwritten rules.
At a certain wave break in the north west last year polers were also ignoring the rules.
Dropping in, snaking not going to the back of the fkn line etc etc were all order of the day.
It gets to a point where you see the riders doing the righty and you'll give way, smile and share the stoke.
The ones consistiently doing the wrong will incur the wrath of my speed, manoverability and can get ****ed.
Sounds like normal surfing to me. The faster more manouverable surfer pops into the wave whenever they can ... as they should. You can never assume the guy in the right spot will get the wave.
The real test of good manners is whether they pull out when they see you have caught the wave from your position of priority.
Why don't you post your concerns on the kite forum? Preferably with complete sentences so people know what you are talking about.
I wonder why poleys can't fang hard upwind anymore ?
Maybe they never could ?
Maybe the big, boxey boat-rail shaped into the poleboard is what makes them drift downwind so much ?
They need some refinement.
Wave slaye
Funny how when the wind drops out and its really glassy and light perfect for wave slaying YOUR nowhere to be seen.
Windsurfers are all over youS LIKE A RASH plodding out to the take off.
you and yr kiter buddies end up down wind washed up in the shore break and weed ? as u kite drops out of the sky .....love it when i hear boom
OH you REALLY DIDNT UNDERSTAND the main point ..........
THERE NOT ENOUGH ROOM
.......AT TIMES
As for the rails may be a bit of volume my help you to link your turns, rather than looking like a water skier behind a v8 running on 4 cylinders? as the fuel is starved and suddenly surges.
Oh youve improved
........
line up and make room or stay down wind
Hey Langy I hear it's getting pretty full on out at the Point these days.
Over population of the stringy thingys forcing many to go elsewhere ?
Please sir can I have some More... Pt More that is !
I think what KOTP is saying, is that sometimes you don't want to fang out to sea all the time. You and your windsurf buddies want to be able to stall it around the point, hover around in light winds and pick off the sets. That becomes impossible in light winds when a kite goes past, and picks up the swell first, even though the sailor has been hovering on the right spot for 5 mins. Not sure what the answer is as this also happens just when windsurfers out, but then you kind of don't mind as much as its a level playing field, kind of, and normally, the wobbled sailor gets let on to a few waves anyway by his fellow crew (in my dreams)
But when the wind is light, the windsurfers only option for waves is to wobble around. If the sailor is down wind, then the kiter claims it from kiting in from out the back. If the windsurfers wobbles up wind, he will be told he is dropping in as the kiter has come from out the back, so that leaves the windsurfer nowhere to go but home or just stand around wobbling for a lucky one. No real answer, as in surfing its the same. I guess KOTP grief is because of new tools to do the job. They are being used to get waves early and potentially just ruining it for windsurfers out there on light days. Whos fault or problem is that is a matter of opinion, with no clear answers.
If this post is anything to go by, then they'll never get the message. I actually feel for the responsible kiters [oops] kiter out there.

Maybe the answer for all the people that realy get upset about it is to have an Octogon on the beach or in the car park?
(UFC)
Then people could leave there frustrations at the beach and not on the Internet.
I do think its funny though. Eg when Im surfing and someone is paddling around me taking all the waves, I just drop in on them when im ready. They might say something the first few times you do it, but they soon get the message![]()
We just need a sign at the beach that says "Play nice boys and girls"![]()

Mr Slave
as you well know stalling is not tolerated at many wave breaks
same as we won't stand for kiters turning onto a peaking wave when we've been on it for 100m already
Ok there is a times ......a period say in 12to15 Knots where kites can get the wood over a windsurfer.
But not as often as you kiters want to believe and think ,
When wsfng at this wind strenght you have to work the gusts and swells BUT you can elect to bear off and plan and chase down and over take a kite. or cruise plodd UP WIND SLOWLY and guess what a windsurfers and kite meet at the same spot on the crossover.
IF YOUR not a SLAYE to the WAVE youll be up wind of hmm every time
But hey is there really enough wind for a kite to be bearing away ?????????
Volume rails LOVE a bit of volume ???? but hey slide Vs Grip .....Sinking AND SURGING staying on the wave face............
kITERS please sHOW US your fkn CUT BACK IN Cross Cross OF.FFFFFFFFFF conditions.
I CONDON STALLING FOR A SET WAVE AND STACKING A LINE UP. ALL
But agree kiters love to sail out and pick off lots of gods garbage, between the sets waves OK but not if theres crew plodding planing out down wind OF YOU .
Get stuffed its better you sail da beach break.
You got no idea of the wind shear as the thing swings along the surface of the water and up and down like a yo yo as you have to watch it dropping out of the sky come crashing down at you every run .
You want to swoop me ...........Gybe just up wind of me
............ get stuffed .....................
Swoop dogy swoop WELL BRING IT ON .......... GET READY TO BE SWOOPED
like flys on my back ...................im armed with my nanna s fly swat
