Why can't they make a gimballed go pro mount so the horizon keeps level and we don't have to watch upside down or sideon video? Our stove on the boat is gimballed so it always stays level despite the level of heel as we sail.

Works really well.
It's a long way from waterproof though 
I think the future is in software gimballing, stick some gyros and accelerometer chips inside the gopro and do it all electronically. Way easier than mucking around with balancing, anti vibration mounts, flexible wire and separate power supplies.
Wow I didn't know they existed..Are they expensive? Why don't more people use them? Are they hard to attach.
Maybe you should get a Gopro Sue, then you wouldnt complain all the time about never being in any footage??

Been tempted but I thought I'd get bored of myself..... No, I really think video from the shore is much better than go pro but it's harder to come by..
