I have been windsurfing for about 2 months now, I'm just getting the waterstarts and can sort of use the harness and footstraps with the odd dodgy gybe. I have a 125L F2 Wizzard and a 5.7 NP saber on a 400 30% mast. This was good at the start but now I need a sail that is a bit bigger so i can get going earlier. I weigh about 75kg and the 5.7 gets me going in about 18 knots. I was wondering what size people think I should be looking at getting? and type? I was looking at a 6.4 gaastra remedy? Either way I am also going to have to get a new mast to fit a bigger sail so what masts are good value? I have about $1000 to spend, preferably less
Thanks
I'd go for a 6.7 or 7.2. A sail like the Saber has a good wind range, the 7.2 should get your board powered nicely. The 09 Sails are out now so you should be able to pick up a new 08 Hellcat for low $600 and an X3 mast for around $300. The Hellcat will give you a similar feel to the Saber and it's a fast stable sail.
Sounds like ya doing well zac waterstarting after 2 months
yep for your weight 6.6-7.2 would be good depending on how much wind you want to plane in.
should be some 2008 runout sails around also check windsurfingsales.com.au on the Loft O2 they are a great sail with 68% xply so strong as well.

I agree - go for a Loft 02 freeride. Great sail and even better value for money.
Ive got a 7.4 and a 6.6. If youve just got the 5.7 I'd get the 7.4 next. It will rig on a 460 mast (with extension) and you can then get an in between sail (6.6) or similar later which will rig on a 460 mast as well.
You should be able to pick up a 2nd hand mast cheap enough on here.
Get onto Bud at Windsurfing sales for the Lofts, he is excellent to deal with. http://www.windsurfingsales.com.au/products/sails/2008OxygenO2Freeride.php
