Currently have an 8.6 overdrive M2. Now thinking for next season should I get the same again or go for the Mach2, will the 9.2 overdrive get me going any quicker than the 8.6 or just Keep going better in the lulls?
so really I guess what need to know is does the Mach 2 have more grunt or am I better off getting the 9.2 overdrive

It'll give you a higher top end than the overdrive, no more grunt. Id stick with the overdrives unless you like overpowered sailing.
Maybe the two cam turbo in the big size to minimize weight and easier to pump.there's an idea. So would a 9.2 turbo give me much more grunt over the 8.6 overdrive. 11knots is what I need with the 8.6 would the turbo go in. 9 to 10knots?
Hard to know. They do have a deep belly. I haven't checked the specs but I suspect it may not weigh much more than the smaller overdrive...
The turbos are a considerable amount lighter than a race sail, and well worth considering provided you're not planning on racing or speed sailing.
It'll actually get you going sooner than an overdrive too. Keeping in mind the sacrifice for that is you'll lose some top end.
My suggestion is to talk to your local shop and see if any of the staff has the bigger turbo (which should be lighter) to confirm that you will plan earlier.

That would be ideal but the chance of finding a shop here is nill.

Hello, I have the Turbo GT 9.2 (2019) as my Lightwind sail. It is really an excellent sail, probably the best characteristics for Lightwind sailing you can get: deep belly, light, easy to waterstart also in light wind, cambers rotate very easy, keeps planing perfectly through lulls and has a broad wind range. It gets me planing very early on my JP Super Lightwind.
I never compared it to an OD 9.4, but I do have an OD M2 7.0, and the OD is definitely not a Lightwind sail. OD is a good freerace/slalom sail for top-end speed under strong wind conditions, but has no low-end power.
And in light wind, you need low end power. You won't break any sped records anyway in 10kn with the OD.
Take the Turbo, that's the best you can get. The OD is definitely the wrong sail for your intentions.
best regards
