Why were only 2 of you out at Wello today!?

One of you came out while I was up near the markers, but then only 2 of you later! You were flying.

Four of us were kiting at the one time, and I was about to kite through the channel markers when.......

...this head about 8cm Diam. and 10-15 cm long stuck out of the water at me. FARK I've never bolted so fast in my life. Kept going thinking WTF was that until about 5min later a diff spot the same (or similar) head appeared!

Realize it must've been a turtle or such! old Bruce I think I'll name him. hah

Tomorrow should be preetttyyy sweet too!!!!!

Wait till you feel the hot smelly breath of a dugong on the back of your sweet neck.

I don't think you will be around to give him a cute name. I think the fright will kill you.

By the way I would have been at Wello but I was up at Caloundra.

I reckon it's only a matter of time before we hit one of those dugongs. There seems to be 2 that hang around inside Rose Bay. Only last time I went sailing one popped up a couple of metres away from me while I was resting on my board

I think its the up and down that puts them off. I mean up and down in wind strength not getting lofted and dropped. The kites can take strong winds but the swimming in the light winds is the pits. OR the kites can take the light winds but the lofting and dragging in the strong winds is the pits. However the kites are pretty rangey these days.

yeap. well done dave.

Its the gusty conditions which puts us off only because we feel every gust pretty hard depending what kite we have.

As dave said, we can get lofted in gusts and thrown really anywhere if we don't see it coming etc. it's just safety and making good decisions.

Might go out today but not Wello. Too Sly to be comfortable.
