Thumbs Up

Winter westerlies anything from nothing to lots, shifting either side of due west.
Launching from a semi shadowed beach.
Why would kites (clearly skilled) want to ride and jump 5 to 10m parallel to the launch beach.
When a sand bar 50m away creates butter water
Is it the risk factor of gusting winds close to land.
I give these fella's heaps of space because already they need to launch and land between families on the beach.

Not completely sure of the conditions at said spot, but from what you've described, id put it down to

a: wanting to stay close to shore in an offshore breeze, in case of mishap. (I'd gather its offshore from what you've described?)

b: showing off. I've seen the same behaviour here at perth spots, Even without a camera on the beach. All thats required is a perceived audience.
