I remember Eckers was using a 26 Delta XT with similar size gear in LG

MUF Delta XT 50 in size 28 or 30 they also do the 26, 28 and 30 in deep tuttle. The Delta XT 50 is also a fast fin designed for GPS sailing in shallow weedy water.

If it's super weedy, I'd recommend a fangy fin

They hang in much better than any other fin in the weed, or high raked weedfin in the chop. But they are heavier, being aluminium.

Way less spinout and a little less weed drag using a Fangyfin 22 than a Delta XT 18.

That is not really comparing like for like maybe you should compare a Fangy 22 with a Delta XT 50 22.

When I use my 9.5-metre sail, I use either a FangyFin28 or if it's really shallow my cut down 28 which is 22cm in length. The one pictured below is one of the solid trial castings which Swindy gut the guts out of, and filled with balsa /resin.

If the water is really shallow then the Fangy fins are hard to beat, particularly if there is a risk of grounding or hitting a solid object, the Fangy Fin will bounce off whereas carbon or G10 fins will break, If you are sailing in Deeper Waters with lots of weed, and want performance then a Pepefoil Custom is hard to beat just order the size and degree of rake you want, I always get 48 degree rake.

I'd love to try twin boxes in big kit like that. You would be able to run smaller fins and I bet you would be able to crank the gybes a lot harder. Have a foil box in the middle fordeeper water days and you would have a very versatile machine

I used a formula board with a 9.5 on the Fangy fin 28 just last week and it was fine. Chomped up wind etc and I think you could cut it down and still have it work.

with a big board and sail like wide freeride and 9+ meter sail
i suggest a Lessacher 42 cm fin
unless you need shorter and/or more angle for more weeds

lawn care comments are welcome
the fin did not help with weeds here ...

And just to add to remery's comment, the Surface Area/foil area of the two fins is very similar, however the foil on the FangyFin is obviously quite different!
