Hello again everyone. Could you experienced sailors please advise me I started sailing very recently on a 145ltr jp funstar and it's great I can waterstart now ect but I want to start wave sailing, as I live in Esperance. Could you please let me know what a good board to buy to start would be. I weigh about 70 kg and already have a number of wave sails

Thanks for your time!!

Esperance is not that windy that often (compared to many places) and the winter swell can be killer

Your best bet will be Fourth Beach on cross shore (so west or east wind) and 1m swell max. Don't even think about 9 Mile yet.

A Freestylewave board would be best, about 90 - 100L BUT you will want to learn to waterstart and gybe reliably (the chicken gybe is the most important thing you will learn)

Thus I really think you should give it this winter on a 90L ish FSW board, on the bay only to get used to it, then hit up Fourth Beach next summer on the flat days
