Has anyone ever windsurfer at warroora station? Will be heading to exmouth so wondering if it's worth a trip in for a sail. Is it flat / choppy, any waves ? Cheers

Hey Steveh, 2 years ago I did an anticlockwise caravan trip around OZ and stopped into Warroora and sailed out the front of the caravan spot and it was just wind chop with some small ground swell. If my memory serves me well we did have a look 5-10 klms south where the cliffs are but it was getting all a bit hard. If the gravel road in off the highway is not graded allow an hour and a half with a caravan. If I had a choice Ningaloo is prettier to sail with some nice snorkelling as an option, and graveyards up the road, and the fantastic wave spot where the light house is. Please send some breeze to QLD.

^^^^^^^^^^What chuck Norris said! We were there 5 summers ago, sailed out the front at the caravan spot, almost dead onshore and just chop, but fun for a blast. All the old caravanners had left by the time we stayed there - too windy! Put our caravan up near the tree and had the whole place to ourselves. The reef is a loooooong way out to tack out on small gear so I didn't bother. Continue North.....and you are in for a treat as well, Exmouth has heaps of great surfing and sailing spots.

I go though there from time to time and never see anyone out sailing.
Be careful if you go out at somewhere like Stevens. There are some serious outgoing rips there, specially on an outgoing tide, and you would have no hope of paddling in against it if you had to. Even on a surfboard it can be a hard slog.
