For my Slalom Tandem Project.
Mat and I are trying to find the components to make an adjustable rolling mast track up to 1.5m long, (plus another normal length one). I was pretty sure there would be Aluminium extrusions existing that would be quite suitable because many Race Board builders in the past seem to have fabricated their own tracks. A good example is the 'Speed pro am 250' race board that I have, built by Stephen McGearey back in the late 80's and early 90's?. The adjustment mechanism and carriage seem fairly easy to fabricate parts for but I would love to find out where he sourced the Track Extrusion. If anyone knows or even has some ideas we would be very grateful.
Likewise, there were a number of aftermarket rolling tracks available for custom race boards. Streamlined come to mind but I am sure there were others. Perhaps some of the big brand tracks were available as accessory/spare parts as well? If anyone has one that is surplus or can point me in the right direction it would be great.
In the tandem speed board Peter and I built 25 years ago (see my avatar) we use Tyronsea mast tracks but there does not seem to be any available now. They are not ideal for this project being (a), too short (although they could possibly be joined) and (b), not 'rolling' tracks which makes them harder to adjust while sailing unless very well lubricated. If anyone knows a source of these, or the extrusion, that too could help solve the problem.
Neil pryde sell RSX mast tracks as a spare part. You can buy any rsx spare direct from the rsx store on the neil pryde website
