OK, I'm sure this has been asked many times before but it's Christmas eve and I've had a few reds.
Back in the mid 80's there was a windsurfing movie and the opening scenes were wave-sailors cutting up waves but filmed from underwater. I was sure the movie was called Tradewinds but when I google "Tradewinds windsurf movie" I get a movie with an animated caveman guy learning to windsurf and I haven't watched the rest.
This movie had a fair bit of Australian content, including a totally out of sequence bit about Bob McTavish and some sort of attempted flying windsurfer. I think there was also some speed sailing scenes.
Anyone from back in the day will know this movie. I watched it with a few hundred others at the Sydney Opera House!
Is it on YoutTube?
Thanks...
Yeah Sailquik I think my mind is leading me astray ![]()
Now after looking at a surf movie database I'm thinking it might be Blown Away by Paul Witzig that I might be thinking of, but it doesn't seem to have made it to YouTube. ![]()
Haha! I did find I have a copy of Trade Wind on Tape (Jimbobs) and copied it to DVD today, but not much point in putting it on Utube as it is already there. ![]()
I can't find any copies of Blown Away though. ![]()
On the plus side, there is a copy of a 1986 video called 'Radical'. What a blast of history! Covers from early 80's so 'no harnesses' to 'chest harnesses'!
All filmed in Hawaii by the looks of it. I will post it up on utube soon. ![]()
This one I really like, especially the French canal footage at about 33.40. and expecially the speed tandems! ![]()
