Had a Magic Ride 118 for six months now as a light winds board but am goin back to a less wide board now for 7 and 8 mtr wind .Goya carrera 116 (66.8 wide) as think the Goya will be bit more exciting, there is nothing wrong with the MR.
Is there anyone out there with similar idea? ![]()
Im on MR 118 and now looking at JP SS 124. 6 more litres but 3cm narrower or SS 112 which is 6 less litres and 9cm narrower. I have 5.5 6.5 and 7.5 (coming) NP Rydes. I still wand the volume insurance as i sail in off shore conditions but really think that in 12mths the 112 would probably be the right board if i continue to improve. Its all about conditions and ability.

Yeah Dave
I had a SS 118 and was fast and fun board but fancied a change and tried the MR but now want that edgy feel speed back .my other kit is Atom 100 , T4 8mtr ,7mtr Ryde ,6 mtr ryde 5 mtr storm and 4.5 storm. The Atom still works really well for me when sea angry and lumpy but when 7 and 8 mtr wind want that excitement of the skiny board again I think gonna give the goya carrera a try next.
I hear ya. Ive just got int the GPS TC thing and my mate i sail with is 18kg lighter and gybes in his sleep, but i can go quicker for now, cos i carry 1-1.5 more sail. the SS will be a bit quicker but still user friendly. Im getting more confident all the time. The 118(or SS124) is a handful in the lumpy stuff but for now im happy to push through and next yr a smaller SS might be the go or FSW type thing
Not sure about the rocker on my old SS but had the raised rear deck. Hove you seen the new goya bolt ?it looks interesting.

I got home from Perth yesterday and found a NP Ryde 7.5HD in the car??? Guess Ill be getting it wet too. It was next to a JP SS124.

A 7.5m??? Hope you've been working out big fella!
Ask Andrew Pollard, saw him on Sunday. He's not sailed for 20yrs.
Fate has it the wind will be less than 10 knots from now on. Mmm 8.6 might be a good idea!
Have now changed the 118 MR for a Goya bolt 15 .OMG it's so fast absolutely love it !think need a freerace sale now (Severn ncx)
