Superseded gear!

Next seasons gear is going to be hitting stores soon and I reckon there'll be a flood of superseded gear left over from this season which the stores will be wanting to get rid of - probably not great for the stores but could be some awesome opportunities for bargains to be had.

I know SHQ in Vic are selling their superseded boards at something like 40% off at the moment...usually there is only a few superseded boards to choose from but this year there seems to be 1 or 2 of each type of JP and Tabou.

Downside is it's harder to sell second hand gear I suppose - but superseded specials like that definitely make buying an additional board to fill a gap in the quiver a possibility!

I just hope this season brings better conditions for using all these new wind toys!

Hey just had a look at the website and called the fellas, sails and boards are going out at very reasonable prices. Think I might be able to afford to look a bit better on the water in the coming season.

nothing to do with the currency lifting.

Can we do the same reduction in USD equivalents of the prices...?

Do you apply the same logic when you walk into a surf shop of any description (or any retail outlet fro that matter ) to buy a T-shirt (or any retail product) in the local market.

nope, but
> t shirts don't sit on the shelf for 12 months,
> t shirts don't cost $3000
> clothes retailers don't post comments on their websites about how expensive t shirts are now that the aussie dollar has fallen

If they did, then I would apply the same logic

hey fletcHuz why have you got so many red thumbs? Is it because you and stuey are trying to promote a sale at SHQ?

Fair play to fletch. He's promoting SHQ and they do a lot for windsurfing. He's probably suffering a bit more with shifting the second hand gear part at the moment too...

In the uk kit is priced "differently"... so I get kind of frustrated given the differences

http://www.surfstore.co.uk/jp-twinzer-wave-2010-p-1431.html

1399 pounds for 2010 twinzer in carbon construction is $2378 at 1.7 exchange rate (and it has been as low as 1.61 recently)

I think this is before the end of year discount has been applied...
