My board is taking on water
I believe through the air vent hole. There is no damage to the board , no cracks that I'm aware of. When not in use , I hang it upside down on the ceiling of the shed, to find a small puddle afterwards ( really quite small)
Even after a sail I can never feel any water swish around in the board
Whats the best way to get it all out.
Has anyone else had this
Will it damage the board
Are faulty air vent a thing. Are they a one way valve?? any input will help
cheers guys

I just had a similar issue. I drilled a hole in the nose, removed the vent plug then left it leaning against the shed in full summer sun for about a week. Quite a bit of water drained out. I then glassed over the hole, but you could just use epoxy putty too.

I assume you have a screw in air vent plug. Have you replaced the o ring?

you won't hear water swish, the board's not hollow.

fix ASAP to minimise chances of damage

Check where the water is coming from, the bung "O" ring is a possibility, but foot strap plugs are another common cause. They can work loose under the pads, you can't see it but water sure finds it.

Agree with both above. if you're not undoing it maybe the o ring been torn for a while? It's not set and forget ??

Where, on the board, is the water dripping from?
Weigh the board before heading out and after coming in.
As said, check vent plug washer.

Was a couple of pounds overweight, left in the sun for weeks. Found 4-5 different leaks mostly from a hole inside strap insert + mast track. Still 2 lbs overweight and after repair still seem to take on water.

Anyway, best bet is vacuum pump. You can chase leaks spraying soapy water after leaving it in the sun.

Second LeeD, where is water coming from? You say a small amount, could just be water held in the foot strap holes (holes used for the foot strap screws and unused holes). Of course check the vent plug Oring, if it is good maybe it is not the problem. Try laying it upside down on top of newspaper or towels for 1-2 hrs and then check where water is wetting the paper or towels.
