I am sure this must have been asked before but I can't seem to find a post on it.

I have recently relocated to Sydney region (bluemountains actually) and am keen to have a sail on week ends.

Happy for flat / bay / beach options

I have seen Botany seems to be a popular spot. What wind directions does it work in and where are the best spots?

Any tips most appreciated ;)

There is a lake up the mountain's you can sail on apparently.
Ive never sailed there .
Its a hell of a drive to botany from mountain's.

I found Canton Beach was fun in a southerly or westerly. Its not Sydney, but maybe the drive is okay for you?

I also found Lake Illawarra (Wollongong) was good in a southerly, but again its not Sydney.
