Hi all,

Both of my ears need treatment for exostoses and having done some reading on the various treatment methods, laser appears to be the best with a shorter recovery time, and longer duration till potential regrowth.

My question is, does anyone know of a practitioner in Australia that utilises the laser treatment for exostoses? Better yet, has anyone had laser treatment here in Australia, and if so, what was your experience like?

Thanks in advance
Tim

Can not help with finding a doctor, but have heard keeping cold water away from your ears will prevent it, do you wear a neoprene hood?

I was following this with interest, hoping someone will say there is a laser treatment in Australia.
Apparently not.

I read about the laser treatment 15-20 years ago. So it's not new.
In Australia we seem to use a chisel. Cheaper I guess.
One would think there is a critical mass here - a lot of surfers, divers...

I'll suffer through the infections and deafness, rather than exposing myself to that sort of torture and possible nerve damage.
These days I use ear plugs while sailing and a hood while diving.

Dr Stephen Rodrigues did mine very successfully in Perth a few years ago but not with a laser. i recommend contacting him to discuss options.
