I'm getting back into windsurfing after a break and want to do more wave sailing. I've sailed mostly at Scotts Point and have done a trip to Hawaii which was fantastic for waves. Any suggestions on spots along the sunshine coast to sail?

All depends on what winds are at the time

For waves in NE go to Mooloolaba
In SE go to Caloundra - Ann St, Neil St or the bar
have fun

I used to windsurf at Lake Cootharabah and the mouth of the Noosa River. Lake Weyba (in Noosa) is also pretty good too I hear. (I've converted to Kitesurfing now though)

Mate if you want quality wave sailing on the sunny coast go to the open beaches from sunshine beach to coolum .Do a down winder in a northely...sweeeet.Too much east in it and its a bit onshore but from the north its down the line wave riding for 20 k's!!! and you pretty well have it to yourself

Thanks for all the good spots and links. I particularly like the idea of the Sunshine to Coolum run and will keep this in mind for the next solid northerly. This time of year ussually delivers more northeries so might try that next weekend. I was told of the ann St local last weekend and sounds good. Thanks again for the contributions.

Hi Paul,

Good to see you again last weekend. Wind stayed in after you left (eventrally quit about 5:30).

Hope to see you around the North coast.

I had a great sail and definitely looking to sail more the north coast. Checking out the info on Neil St and ann st suggested some good waves working Moffat reef of there so will see what the weather gods deliver. I'll catch up with the other guys and get them onto this website to get some more Qld content moving around.
