Hi All. Can anyone recommend a product (not sun screen) that will protect me from the sun ?. Something like a rash vest that also covers the legs and neck would be good. Cheers.

Saw on ebay a aussie company that does a spring suit with rashie style long sleeves and long legs, especially designed for summer. Good idea?....

I have an O'Neill rashie which is heavy duty Lycra complete with Hood and peak/visor attached. Works a beaut leaving just face and hands exposed. I used it in Indo but found having the neck covered made it a bit hot and uncomfortable.

Now I use a long sleeve rashie plus FCS broad brim surf hat [as opposed to base ball peaked cap style]. This keep all the sun off especially when the sun is high and most UV laden. It also allow free neck movement. Importantly I attached an additional string to secure the straps around the back of my neck as well, so it rarely gets blown off and when it does the string is looped around my neck so I have never lost it.

I see alot of the older windsurfers now wearing the same hats.

In my professional life I spend alot of time cutting out skin cancers. Looking at old people who have worked outdoors in their earlier lives, I dread to think what most windsurfers will look like in another 30 years

I wear the sunblock too but can have a degree of confidence in a physical barrier I dont have in sunblocks esp at the end of a 3hr session.
