I am planning the summer holidays. 
We want to drive south from Sydney to meet some friends driving north from Tassie. Do you know of a nice place half way where we can camp and surf and windsurf. Some lake or bay near by would be great. Does anyone know Merimbula for example ?
I guess that the first weeks of January would remind me well of south of France in August :
One day we had to wait for someone to leave so we could put down our beach towels !
Mallacoota! Surf, windsurf, fishing, mtn biking, camping, all excellent. You have the choice of ocean beaches or the inlet lakes for windsurfing. Check it out.
