Are there see any issues storing the sail rigged up? I usually release the down and out haul before doing so. The mast obviously still stays curved for extended periods. Any problems that may arise?
You'll end up with a permanent bend in your mast.
No real biggie except if/when you go to sell your mast
The other thing to look for is creasing across/through the sail after the tension has been released but it is still in place on the mast.
Again no real issues except for re-sale due to creasing
We had a storage shed in maui where we were staying for a few weeks with all the sails fully rigged ready to go.
Matt prichard just basically told us to rotate the mast 180 degrees every 2 days to avoid long term bending. other than that was not really concerned.
This is easy to do when you are sailing every day but maybe not a good idea if you leaving the sails unsed for a long periods.
She left me just a tiny space (we have 3 bdr without kids ...) in the patio so my rig has to stay all the time under rain, sun and whatever ...
Shame on her!! [}:)]
