Any comments on suitability for choppy seas / small waves (as per Adelaide coast for those who may know)? I weigh 90kg, board is Technora constrution.

I have a smaller wave board, but need something bigger to cover the learning gap, yet not too big so as to avoid out growing the board later on.

Thanks,

Chris.

In my opinion the Kombat is great for blasting around in chop and small waves. I have an 86l I sail here in Perth all the time. My only comment would be that you might want to consider going smaller depending on the sail size you intend on using. I'm 95kg and have no dramas using a 5.8 in 20 knots especially with the freeride fin.

I have the 79l wood, and use it mainly for bump and jump around Perth, I find it great in the chop and very forgiving. Im 80Kg and its felt like the right size for me when the winds in, I previously had an 84l board and was worried that the 79 would be too small. I also have used it for speed sailing on the river but with the standard fin havent got above 31 knots on it.
