Is spinnaker repair tape suitable for fixing to both dacron and mono and is it strong enough to repair an edge pull out damage?
Unsure but for mono i would go with a mylar repair tape, this stuff works a treat:

Spinnaker repair tape works well for comparatively small tears in wing canopies.
For mono it is definitely the wrong stuff and without having tried I wouldn't trust it for dacron in windsurfing sail, where forces are bigger and cloth s a lot heavier (might work though).
As has been mentioned, mylar repair tape can be used to fiy mono. If you hvaen't got any, stickers (brand or shop merch) works better than duct tape). A bit of soapy water can help you to place stickers perfectly without air bubbles.
The patch has to stick to both mono and dacron. What about dacron tape or insignia tape?
I've used Dacron repair tape on mono seems to hold up but as with any type of tape it's just a temporary repair also I have used a product Tear- Aid type A for mast sleaves this works really well well on Dacron cloth etc.
Heavy dacron stickyback, which is very different to spinnaker tape, sticks like the proverbial and if done correctly, can fix major tears in yacht sails, which come under much heavier load than a windsurfer sail. Sailmakers have it.

I second this. Spinnaker tape is no good for fixing dacron and mylar sails but the heavy duty dacron repair tape will do the job.
