For all NSW Waters and for Sydney Closed Waters.
Issued at 10:20 am EDT on Saturday 27 January 2007

Synoptic situation
A cold front near Kiama moving northeast at about 20 knots. Expected to reach Sydney around midday and Coffs Harbour about 10 pm.

Gale Warning
For the South Coast, from Ulladulla to Gabo Island

S/SW wind 30/40 knots easing to 20/30 knots in the north this evening. Sea 3 to 4 metres. Swell 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing.

Strong Wind Warning
For the Mid North Coast, Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast and Illawarra Coast, from Wooli to Ulladulla

N/NW wind 18/23 knots ahead of a S/SE change of 25/33 knots. Sea rising to 2.5 to 3.5 metres. Swell 1 to 1.5 metres.

Strong Wind Warning
For the Far North Coast from Tweed Heads to Wooli

N/NW wind increasing to 20/30 knots later this afternoon or evening. Sea rising to 2 to 3 metres. Swell 1 metre.

Strong Wind Warning
For the Sydney Closed Waters, Pittwater, Port Jackson and Botany Bay

NW wind 15/20 knots ahead of a S/SE change of 20/30 knots around midday. Waters becoming choppy to rough.

The next warning will be issued by 5 pm EDT Saturday.

Please be aware
Wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height. :D

That bear away heading towards that sea break looks disturbingly sketchy :o

And Swoosh been sailing here all morning/arvo in the Gong. At 1030 it was 25-30kts, When I packed up at 3 it was averaging 30, gusting to 38kts. Bit wild for wave riding even on the 4.1 ^_^

Actually watching the vid, thats one bumpy course, Even though Martin takes a couple of big hits in it, he looks the most stable with the larger board.
