I have been to one shop and it has been difficult to get these parts. Are they available (preferably online order) from somewhere?

Windsurfing Perth should have a spare spring out the back amongst many spare parts for your extension.
Drop by the shop and have a scrounge yourself.

Hi, Grumpy,

I copied this from the Starboard and Roger Jackson's site about 18 months ago, so it might still work.

32mm FOOTSTRAP SCREWS
????New longer footstrap screws for easier strap fitting
????Increased pull-out resistance
????Stronger screw head

FROM THE STARBOAD REPAIR PAGE

Hi Don,

They are actually "PT" screws, which are as you say specially designed for
use with maximum pull out strength in thermoplastics like footstrap plug
inserts are made of.

I've measured many of the screws, that come with Starboards and other
boards and the FS screws seem to differ only in the root diameter from standard PT
screws. The root diameter standards for PT screws (patented design by CAMCARDiv. of Textron) is a little smaller that what I have measured the Cobra
supplied screws to be.

Check out this URL for more info:

Most boards use 6mm x 28 mm PT type screws.
I can send you a chart of some research I did on which screws fit all the
2002 Starboards. Also this chart includes the actual specifications for the
closest to the OEM screws I could find. These screws should fit nearly all boards produced at Cobra.
Hope this helps,
Roger

If you have owned the board from new, you can measure the screws already there (take the screws from all of the holes). Don't go up in length, go one size larger in diameter. Starboard are still listing available screws on their accessories page, so a Starboard dealer should have/be able to get them if you give him the length/diam. of the screws in your board. If you can't get them from a SB dealer, you might have to go to a bolt bar to see if they can get them, but make sure they are PT screws.

As for the NP parts, you might try Reg in Perth or maybe a second-hand extension. NP Maui used to have the best NP spare parts availability in the world, but since Kevin Ozee has gone, it might not be the same. Worth a try, though.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! I will try WSP for the spring. As for the screws, I must give Surf Sail Australia a thumbs up! They have all the right screws, and also a downhaul pulley whcih I needed all in stock.
