Did anyone else get hammered Sat arvo when that southerly came through, three of us were all on big gear and 40knts came from nowhere.
When I arrived it was still blowing gently from the West. By the time I'd opened all car doors it hit hard from the South. My 5.7 was looking big, my board rolled a couple times across the grass. I went out anyway for a quick, 50m blast, a few catapults and a swim back.
You know over the past 4 months I've used the 5.7 three times, and twice I was overpowered. I'm thinking I might need a 6.4 as a base sail, skip the 5.7 and get a 5. Seems to be only ever 15-20 or 30+ on the Coast. ![]()
At least it arrived for you.
I had planned the perfect Day on Saturday.
I told Mrs KnotBoard that because it wasn't going to be windy today we should spend time together swimming at the beach.
[}:)]Knowing full well that the SE front was going hit late afternoon and I would just happen to be there with kit in van [}:)]
It blew 6-8 knots NE all day![]()
Still, Mrs Knot Board learnt to uphaul a 4.2m Ezzy on a 115L JP board ![]()
On another note, I heard Ducati was spotted on Saturday using a 9m sail and fin which was "6 foot long", please tell me it's knot true ![]()
it was a thing of beauty, ![]()
this season has been so good i've even entertained the idea of getting a 70lt wave board and a 4.7 to go with it.
