Just picked up a 2nd hand Sonic 100 that needs a couple of repairs. One small area needs to have some urethane foam injected to fix a soft spot and there is another spot just beyond the edge of the rear padz which is soft and has a crack in the laminate - heel pressure (see image with padz removed). I'm OK with the foam injection thanks to advice from Lao Shi. But before I start sanding out the crack I wanted to ask if anyone knew what the laminate schedule was on the Sonics. Can I expect to find PVC foam sandwich or will it just be layers of class/carbon?

You will find PVC Glass and maybe wood, it's a composite board, you can see what it's like on their website under technologies.

The Urethane injection is a cheap and quick fix, but I try to avoid it. The best way to repair boards is to repair them exactly the way they are made.. This is how the two best bord repairers I've ever met do it (robot the Italian in Jeri, and a Russian Rambo in Egypt). Replacing the structural laminate, like for like, is better than filling in with goop.

This goes for all repairs, slapping fiberglass over the top of a crack is also pretty cowboy, as thats not how the board was made. Necessary if you're short of time, but not ideal.

I have just repaired a snapped Tabou Rocket, and taken photos of the proces.. Might upload them later during the footy.. You'll probably be directed to that boardlady but I've seen better repairs use my technique.
