So the new season is upon us, the new gear is arriving. What have you ordered/changed from just 3 months ago? Anyone done any major changes such as sold up all their wave gear and gone speed etc? Original thread here-> www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=51558

I sold up my wave gear (JP RWW 76, NP Combats 5.3, 4.7) to buy Formula gear last xmas. Relatively major change.

Vando,
Much difference between the 09 and 10 models? (apart from price )

Mark,
Being fairly isolated it's difficult off loading old gear so I just seem to keep accumulating "stuff" where one day soon I will be able to open my very own windsurfing museum. That said I think my only purchase this year will be a new lighter wind sail (I was given a gift voucher for gear from a heap of friends for my big four O)

Even being not isolated it is hard offloading old gear, there should be more kids that sail then we should just pass it on. What are you going to get? I've made a few changes to less gear mostly prompted by the price of new race sails this year

Ah, was just wondering how come u went 94 instead of 86

Might try demo the 5.2 at some stage. Hoping to get a 5.7 or a 6.2, but from the looks of the website they are out of 09 stock.

On topic thou, I'm trying to slim my quiver to:

Boards:
92L FSW
80-85L Waveboard (gonna sell the 75L, just too small for seq).

Sails:
5.3
5.7 (sell the 5.9)
6.2 (maybe if i got the cash)

Finally getting some wind after the winter wind drought has got me keen for some new gear. I even bought a mountain bike to drive away the hoards of red arrows. at least I didn't start kiting

8.8m Code Red for the iS122 - probably blow all summer now which is fine by me. This is the first new sail I have ever bought. Also totally agree with you regarding price of race gear, $2k+ for a sail with a big tail (RSR) seems ridiculous.

Geeze give me a chance only just unwrapped them today lol.
But at a glance the 94 changed alot wider shorter first impression on the water very quick on the plane and very responsive it was only a very quick session today so hope to test this new baby out some more.
The 121 Ive got in carbon, cutouts are different more rounded nose havnt got this one wet yet.

Swoosh I went to the IS94 this year mainly for racing.
The 86 is very quick board but not much volume for me 85kg hmm if i had the money i would get a new 86 slim as well

They are all getting up there now, pryde is not alone .

Personally i've changed from what I had in last thread, to gear that is a bit more focused for here and is a good compromise for slalom and gpsing-

Boards:
F2 SX Medium
F2 SX Small
Mistral Syncro 86

Sails:
Naish Stealth 7.8
Naish Stealth 6.4
Naish Force 5.3

Just waiting for the Stealths and a quiver of select SL9's and X1 wave's to arrive

I replaced my kit last season....But I did have to order a 2010 JP fsw 112L(Pro edition) for this season, It should make a good bump and jump board. I've also got a 7.2 and 7.7 NP Tempo on the way to update my flat water sails. The Rest of the kit still has the new car smell, I'll wait till close out at the end of the season before updating the rest of my sails, As boards now cost over $3k....Ouch! I need to save $$$$ where i can. The sad thing is I have to wait till november for delivery, but i know it will be worth the wait.

recent acquisitions include, new fins, boom and mast.
Wishlist is a big gutsy sail for light wind, maybe a small slalom board if SWMBO isn't looking.

Hey swoosh, if you like the lipwave's I've got a 5.7 used 4 times and no longer wanted (cos we ain't got no waves), pm me if interested.

Very happy with the formula gear. Over the past 9 months Ive sailed many more days on the formula gear than I would have on the wave board. Gotta love the the typical Sydney winds.
