I can buy local a second hand gator 7.0 from 2023 with a luff 465 .
This sail is specified with a 460 mast but i have a severne red 430 rdm mast and i weigh 75 Kg.
I want to use it for my in land large lake bump and jump and light wind sea sessions on a 105 fsw.
Is this a good option?
Greetings from Bart from the netherlands
Hi. I have a 7m gator and rig it on a 430rdm mast and it does not rig well. Seems to need far more down haul than specified and so far not nice to sail - I'm thinking I will need to buy a 460 rdm. I'm same weight as you. I have other size gators that I'm very happy with.

I have the opposite
Severne told me it would be ok and so I bought a 7 to use on my 430 (biggest sail a waves or can achieve without buying more masts)
It works wonderfully
mine is about a 2020-21 on blue rdm
Mine is a 24 model and I'm rigging on a Nash 90% carbon mast. I think same bend curve as Severne. something isn't right as it seems to need about 3 cm more downhaul than specified to get a loose leech and then feels very heavy and unbalanced on the water. It could be the way I'm rigging.
Yeah but now you have a setup requiring huge extension. You might get away with the Naish when it's mostly mast in the luff tube but not in this case as any small bend curve variances could be in very much the wrong place for it to be ok.
it's fine on my SV mast.
