I bought a new Severne NCX sail 7.5 from 2023. I paired It with a Severne blue 460 SDM last but i have a problem. When it s rigged it s difficult to pass the battens. I have to force. I changed dowhaul tension, outhaul tension and batten tension with no improvement. Is anyone had the same observation ? Do i need a rdm mast ? Thanks

I had the exact same problem with 2024 7mtr NCX, and I was using an Apex 100% 460 and the battens at the bottom would not rotate. (I thought it was cut badly) Then I used a 430 RDM for a while which rotated perfectly until I purchased a 460 RDM ( although I felt no real difference)

Yes a RDM mast will fix your rotation problem and has much less chance of breaking.

See other thread, SDM works if you've got the right mast and tuning.
