Have I got an assumption wrong here or am I looking in the wrong place? Would love someone in the know to help.

Got an NCX 6.5. Has a quad pully block - so needs a triple block mast extension.

Wave grenade only has double wheel.

Race extension HD is only SDM.

Recommended mast is 430 RDM.

So what mast base/extension do Severne suggest for the NCX 6.5?

Cheers,

Jon

C,mon , going to give this a try ,
Im in the know trying,
Quad pully block, got one ( only use 3 ) needs four pully extension , never seen one,
Double wheel , haven't seen one since 1980,
Race extension were never in HD and only in SDM
And at least 460 minimum no matter what size,
Make that 490,
Im on to u , BOOM!

Normal sail and normal extension - use 2 pulley wheels on the extension and 3 on the sail.

= plenty of downhaul with ease. On a no cam freeride should be fine

whats the question again

I would think if they've put a quad block on it (and ncx being at the race end of their no cam range) they probably intend for it to be rigged on a SDM with the triple block race extension. I can't see anything on the ncx pages of the severne website where it says rdm recommended.

I'm sure one of the other brands might have a triple block rdm extension in their range if you really want to go rdm. Or go with marks idea of just missing a block on the sail.

The question was , if u have a five pully sail would a six pully reduced diameter reduced race extension be enough ?
I think it would.

As everone above has suggested, use you wave grenade extension and leave one pulley on the block unused. This should be no problem at all. I use a down haul winch and rig all my 4 cam race sails with only 3 pulleys on the sail and 2 pulleys on the extension.

Rig my 6.5 ncx with 430 SDM and 3 pulley pro limit mast extension. No problem.

The best extender for the NCX is the Severne extender :)
