Can anyone tell me what bend curve "type" the Severne 460cm BlueLine masts are, or the bend percentages for the top and bottom? Thanks!

Severne is considered "hard top" like MauiSails or Gaastra
the blue line seems to have 75% and 100% carbon versions ??

easiest way - get the mast for the sail - usually 75% is the most you'll need

currently was a KA sail with NP mast discussion = NON

Go here

www.unifiber.net/masts-selector

I think the Blue line might be a bit stiffer in the top than the Severne masts in this table. They are probably Red lines or Enigmas. Whatever, I tried a Code red 6.1 on a 75% 430 Blue line and it was too stiff at the top making the the sail tight at the leach at the top 3 batterns yet sails rigged with Red lines look alright.

This same 430 rigs a 6.3 Maui sail TR4 nice. So I'm thinking it is probably Hard top with bend half way between Severne Red line and Maui sail masts.

A Dane called Peterman has put some time into the subject. This might help..

www.peterman.dk/masts-all-imcs01.htm

and www.peterman.dk/windsurf-mast-article-gb01.htm

and according German "surf" mag.
Severne Blue Line
Length (cm) 460.0, IMCS stiffness (465) 24.3, IMCS bend characteristcs 10.6, Bottom flex(%) 63.2, Top flex(%) 73.8 .

If you study the table collated by Peterman you will note in several cases there are quite different stiffnesses measured of different examples of masts which are susposed to be identical. The board manufactures alway say X weight + or - 6% but you never here about mast stiffness + or minus 6%..but it is there.
