Looking at getting the Severne Blade 6.2 and 5.3 to sit on the matching 430 RDM mast.
The sails size should suit my 68kgs and my 103L Starboard Kode. The one mast for the two sizes I want being a BIG plus!
I am definitely not a wave sailer (just an aspring beginner/intermediate...) but I it will be used for bay blasting and coastal sea sailing, so I will be in between the waves just not on them...
Is a wave sail like the blade, still user friedly enough for this type of sailing? I don't want to be fastest on the water, just want to make sure that I am on the board having fun more than in the water, wishing it wasn't so hard...
I looked at the all rounder Severne Gator for example and I needed an extra mast for the range that I wanted. I am also looking at the Ezzy Panthers as I can rig a 6.3 and 5.2 on the same mast just...
I use the Blades and love them, yer the 5.3, 5.7 and 6.2m all rig on the 430 mast, they are a powerfull sail, i used them becasue of the drive and also the lower clew but that only because i'm short.. The 6.2m is a big sail for you to use, the biggest i run is a 5.7m and in summer i'm usually around 86 to 88kgs. and sail a 98 litre freestyle board as a light wind board around 15 to 18 knots..
You can also run the 5.0m on a 430 mast, i experimented with this over summer, one of the heavier Severne sponsored guys put me onto it, for a heavier sailor it just doesn't let the sail twist off as early and feels more powerful than having it rigged on the 400 and get you going in a bit lighter winds when i would have been on a 5.3m... so a smaller sail could also be an option with one mast..
And i use the Blades for flat water and in the surf and they feel good in flat water and still hold a good speed...
