How do we determine the yr of manufacture from the serial numbers on the boards?
This is of my little JP Slalom 232x55 84litre.

"All the boards build at the Cobra factory in Thailand (Fanatic, Tabou, Naish, Starboard, F2...) follow the same pattern: the first 2 letters identify the maker and the two next digits give the year.

For example, the serial number of my Fanatic Freewave 2012 starts with "FA12...".

RRD and Angulo boards have a slightly different pattern, they insert the board model between the company identifier and the year. For example a RRD Freewave 80 2011 has a serial number starting with "RDFW8011". I think Angulo uses 4 letters to identify the company.

JP boards have a completely different pattern. I am not really sure, but I think the year follows the first 4 digits. A 2007 board would have a serial number like "92347..."

Testing this for your board arrives at " 10667" since this is for a 2007 model, manufactured and delivered sometime in 2006 I assume.

Its a very nice board one which was developed for Micah Buzianis. The reference to Neil Pryde Maui may indicate it is probable that this board just maybe was used by him.

Some of the info, that's copied is different than my experiences. Things could change in the order the companies show the serial number and age.

i have both these numbers, from the printed cartons as new delivered.

Naish Hybrid Wave 96 liters year is 2007
its shown as NAHW9606, so it was made in 2006 but it's a 2007.

RRD 2009 Wave Twin 74 liters.
its shown as RD9WT74

their are more numbers than I have shown , but in this discussion are immaterial.

Anyway it's just an ex rental .. nothing wrong with that.
