The great thing is that Sandy Point/Prom is the most consistently windy place in Victoria and if you wave sail as well as enjoy the inlet for speed/slalom/freestyle it works in most wind directions.
And that it is 3 hours away from Melbourne, so nearly all the kiters stay where there are plenty of people to bask in their magnificence at St Kilda or Brighton. It would be an absolute disaster if it ended up like Woodman Point in WA.
Most of the kitters are put off or just smashed by the strong wind.
Which makes it perfect for us

One kitter has been sailing there quite often and does a great job, keeps out of the way and handles the strong wind.
