Things are a bit quiet on the forums, so for those who hibernate during the winter here is a chance to gather some sympathy from your mates on Seabreeze To win your accolades, just tell us in 25 words or less the saddest thing that happened to you on the water during the last season. Injuries, gear breakages or just dumb luck...share us your sorrow, or most embarrassing moment. Please disqualify any of the times you hit a sandbank, got bitten by an ant during rigging, or left some part of your gear back at the park (twice) because these are too common to be funny ( and they all happened to me).

Dont be shy,
Try not to cry.
The fun in the sun,
Needs to be shared with someone.

Spent 3hrs one arvo watching a fishing boat on anchor 3KS out hanging in a solid S/Westerly as the local weather station 5ks south confirmed. Just didnt come in where i was.
Sadest thing, thought i could repair a broken mast, didnt last 5 minutes.
^^ edit dumbest.

I'd spent 3hrs sailing without crashing once.Coming in to finish with spectators on the shore I wasn't paying attention, sailed into the lee and ran out of wind. I ended up trapped under the sail spluttering and trying to find a way out and then a way to regain face and make a cool exit onto the shore..
Another time I was flying into the shore, unhooked, hit bottom and was thrown about 20' ahead face first with arms outstretched like a starfish into the weed and mud. I came up with a face covered in mud and weed hanging off everywhere..
