Thx for the tips guys. Will get normal racks, planning on using the tray. Didn't get a van because I need to access some off road windsurfing locations.

What happened to the other thread with my long reply on renting vehicles for windsurfing trips?

The word CYBERTRUCK triggered a meltdown ,someone also used her incorrect pronouns. Bad ,bad case of TDS.

I read most responses before it got deleted. My current car is a hybrid rav. Best car I've ever owned.

Why did it get deleted, was there something bad in there? Why didn't they redact that message instead? I think it's bad to delete threads especially without any indication that it happened.

I've got a trailer for the rav. Bought one of those all on one box trailers with detachable cage etc and got a local fabricator to weld up double racks to fit in the cage supports. Can swap out depending on use. Works so well.

The rav is great off-road but I'm trying to look after it and not keen to use it on the beach.
Plus it's auto and my son is keen to learn in a manual.

Long story short was going to get a van and fit it out but my daughter needed help with a car so we gifted her the bomby daily driver and got an older model ute for beach trips and manual learning.

Kicked the can down the road with respect to the van..
