What a great day of racing again at Pelican Point on Wednesday the 21st.
33 entrants that is great, let's aim for 40 next Wednesday.
Not quite as many stacks as last week (the new longer start line helped that), but the racing was super close, the finish between James Dinsmore and Chris Lockwood was as close as they get.
Well done James for coming first, Chris for coming second and Claude for coming 3rd.

I took a heap of photos which I will try and post on Seabreeze over the weekend.
Next Wednesday was planned to be the last of the series, however I am prepared to continue with it as long as you guys continue turning up and the weather is reasonably consistent.
Hope to see you all next Wednesday and the ones that follow.
Don't forget Windsurfing WA is running a Slalom at South Beach on Saturday the 31st, which should be huge check out details at www.windsurfingwa.org.au
Pelican Point Summer Twilight Series
Series now extended
Briefing 5.50 Start 6.00pm
We are organizing a Wednesday night twilight series during summer. Why should the Yachties have all the fun?
?This is just for fun and is designed to attract sailors that want a bit of fun not for the ultra competitive.
?We will get on the water at 6.00 whatever the wind.
oWindy = slalom/freeride gear.
oLight = big boards.
oSuper Light = Stick your rig on a SUP (Stand Up Paddle board)
oNo Wind = Sup Race (board and paddle supplied)
We will be starting and will have a course to sail as per a normal race, so you can get the feel of how racing works. We will have a number of the top sailors sailing, so you can pick up a few tips and we will have a score board to put your finishing position. So it is great training for the real thing.
Ever tried using a GPS to record your highest speed? Windsurfing WA has six GPS units that are available to borrow, so you can see how your speed compares with other sailors. We will keep the results and see how you improve during the season
In the same way the yacht clubs attract sailors all just wanting to have some fun we are going to do the same. Bring down some mates or come down by yourself everyone welcome
SMALL PRINT
This is not an organised race. it is a social get together that is all about being safe and having fun. Every sailor is responsible for their own safety and should only sail within their capabilities. Be aware at all times of other water users, it is your responsibility to be safe on the water. By suggesting this get together we are in no way taking any responsibility for yours or others safety.
Thanks for your support for this event Ian. Its very popular and seems to be growing at a rapid rate. The beer and pizza after is a great way to encourage the entrants to stay on till dark and socialise.Thanks again for a JOB WELL DONE.
wow guys... Great to see such support for racing in WA. I must admit i had no idea there was so much enthusiasm for racing over there.... Totally pumped to see you guys being competitive..
Brett....
Brett,
It has been a great series, 3 out of 4 have had good wind and the other one we had a Stand Up Paddle race. So at least guys know some kind of race is going to happen what ever the conditions.
Next Saturday we are having a slalom at South Beach with a very similar course and format to the one we had at the Nationals two (?) years ago that you attended, so we are expecting that to be a great event.
Initially the Pelican Point Series was only going to be 5 heats, but due to the great turn out we are going to continue every Wednesday, for the rest of the season.
A lot of the motivation for geting this happening was from discusions with yourself about the success of racing in NSW, so it is great that we have been successful in getting the numbers.
Thanks,
Ian
